The Streets of Barangaroo is Sydney’s newest harbourside neighbourhood and perched amongst its buildings sits Untied, a tropical rooftop oasis.
With a colour palette of bold tropical tones and a combination of Australian-inspired dishes, cocktails and sleek tunes, Untied oozes the ambience of tropical North Queensland. It is the epitome of who and what Australian culture is today, without the cliches.
Housed in a modern, industrial building that features an external green stairwell, this vibrant space is complete with a sleek marble bar, lush greenery and vivid, colourful furniture. The concertina glass doors dividing the indoor and outdoor areas create a flexible space for up to 260 patrons to enjoy relaxed dining and drinks with friends or celebrate events.
Whilst the concept of the venue does not take itself too seriously, the menu, cocktail list and wine selection tell a story of sophistication and quality. The sharing style menu features fresh, light bar food and contemporary BBQ dishes using locally sourced produce.
The raw bar showcases a daily selection of seasonal oysters topped with a variety of interesting garnishes such as Jaboticaba and vanilla and dishes such as snapper, finger lime, ginger, chilli & puffed wild rice and Cobia, fermented chilli, avruga & persilan.
For patrons looking for something substantial, an array of barbecued protein and vegetable dishes cooked on a wood-fired grill are available, including lamb with honey, native mint, asparagus, sorrel & goats curd and mushroom with macadamia nuts, baby spinach & quails egg.
The cocktails are fun, fruity and emanate tropical homegrown flavours such as Tomorrow’s Tribulation, featuring Campo de Encanto Pisco Acholado, pandan sugar syrup, coconut water, fresh lime juice, a dash of egg white with toasted coconut and pandan leaf. The name is a play on Cape Tribulation, a coastal area within Daintree National Park that offers a combination of rainforest and beaches. Also a cheeky suggestion of times to come…
The precinct’s newest rooftop venue is now open every day from 12 pm till late making it the perfect playground for corporate workers, tourists and residents alike to kick back and let loose.
