12-Micron: Your New Destination for Dining, Drinking and Dessert

If you’re looking for a dish that’s almost too beautiful to eat, 12-Micron awaits you. Located in The Streets of Barangaroo, this incredible new 230-seater restaurant provides a fine dining experience that’s impressive but not intimidating.

Inspired by the rare and coveted fine 12-micron wool fibre which is refined into a beautiful garment, 12-Micron takes the best Australian ingredients and refines them into an evolving menu of dishes. The nod to the Australian elements is throughout all aspects of the food, drink, and interiors evident in their late-night dessert kitchen and bar with harbour views of the city.

Executive chef Justin Wise (The Press Club, The Point Albert Park) has been building relationships with Australia’s finest producers, as well as a collective of foragers to create a refined yet relaxed restaurant menu divided into four parts: earth, ocean, land and air. Earth is all about vegetables and breathtaking dishes include paperbark baked vegetables with fruit spice and goats curd. Ocean dishes include the Skull Island king prawn steamed buns with wasabi, green mango and tobiko. Land focuses on paddock-dwellers such as lamb with spinach, native iron bark honey and damper. Lastly, Air features dishes like half pigeon with Aussie master stock, red cabbage and Illawarra plum, and lamb with spinach, native iron bark honey and damper.

A 40-seater dessert bar will satisfy your sweetest fantasy with a la carte creations or a degustation of three, five or seven intricate courses created by master of sweets, pastry chef and TV personality, Darren Purchese. Indulge in his signature Dark Chocolate Mousse with salted caramel, tonka bean, mandarin and Zokoko chocolate or try the Coconut Sago with passionfruit, ginger and mint.

The 120-seater bar caters for a broad range of tastes and budgets, with a growing wine list and delicious snacks including a mushroom taleggio toastie and Wagyu cheeseburger. Sip on a Smoking Chaplin cocktail (Plymouth Sloe Gin, Védrenne apricot brandy, lime and rosella jam) and take in the beautiful balcony views, or if you’d prefer an exclusive area, there’s a private dining space which seats up to 20 or stands 40.

12-Micron can accommodate for a range of culinary experiences including casual after-work drinks, cheeky dessert dates, long lunches and more. The venue is now open for dining, drinking and dessert until late, seven days a week with the dessert bar taking bookings until 11pm.


12-Micron is also available for function hire, with semi-private function bookings available in the bar, restaurant and dessert kitchen, or private function bookings in the Private Dining Room.
